A SCRAPBOOKED MEMORY IS FOREVER!
As a newlywed after my college years, my closest friend taught me how to sew. At this point in my life, I was actually making some of my own clothes. Cindy (my best friend) and I then "morphed" into quilting. After several years we went through a period during which we would get together and craft up a storm---animals, dolls, seasonal decorations, floral arrangements, quilted products---which would end in a fall open house craft sale in my home.
In the late 90's I went to a "Stampin Up" party which was my initiation into rubber stamping. My granddaughter, Emily Kate, was born in 2001 and it seemed a natural progression to transition into scrapbooking. I began with 81/2 X 11 size and soon expanded into the 12 X 12 size pages which gave me more room to be creative!!
Right around the time of my retirement, a new store opened in downtown Goshen, "Creative Gatherings". It changed locations several times over the years---but always stayed in Goshen. I was a regular there and was asked to become part of its Design Team around 2005. Unfortunately for everyone, the store closed in 2009--as did all the other specialty scrapbook stores in Orange County to my knowledge.
Wanting to continue friendships with many of the wonderful people who frequented the store, several of my retired friends and I attempted to open a Crop House in Middletown, NY. We offered instruction in quilting, rubber stamping, and scrapbooking. This soon proved WAY more work than any of us had reckoned for! To do it well would have been a full-time job. We all had other demands on our time (aging parents, personal health issues, loving grandchildren AND husbands who deserved quality time too!). So we closed the house after barely one season!
Still feeling the need to create, I continued designing several kits a month in limited quantity and started a newsletter that announced the new kits. They were added to the Time2Scrap website for general viewing. I hoped to find enough people who liked my designs to continue what I loved doing. As I update this background information, I am in my 6th year of sharing my designs with others.
I thank you again for visiting my site and hope you find something that will provide an attractive background for your favorite photos. Check back often and never hesitate to email me with suggestions and/or questions. I welcome the input and communication with fellow scrapbookers like myself.
Of all the many crafts I have tried over my 60+ years, I must say that I am happiest with scrapbooking because I feel it will live on and continue to give pleasure and perpetuate wonderful memories long after I am gone. What could be more important than preserving family memories for future generations?
Thanks for visiting my website and for your interest in my scrapbook kits.
Just a bit of background information on myself, the designer of the kits you find on this site. In reality my major career was as a French teacher here in the local junior & high schools of Goshen from 1970-2000. Throughout my teaching career, I was involved in crafting in some capacity. Actually I have been crafting since my teenage years when my Mother taught me to knit.
